3313002 - Texts in form template are not correct after uploading through function 'merge form template' in 'Maintain Form Template' App

Symptom

When translating the form template manually in Adobe LiveCycle Designer, the texts mixed up with original language.

Some fields show the text in new language. But other fields show the text in original language even through they have already been translated manually in Designer.

Environment

SAP S/4 HANA

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open 'Maintain Form Template' App, and select the form template.
  2. Click on '+ New Translation' and select a language.
  3. Download the form template by clicking the 'Download' button after the target Language.
  4. Translate the text in Adobe LiveCycle Designer manually.
  5. Upload the form template by click 'Merge Form Template'.
  6. Download the form template again in step 3, and check the text field.

Cause

During the manual translation using Adobe LiveCycle Designer, the text type for the fields may be changed unexpectedly during manually typing, or copying.

This forced the Adobe LiveCycle Designer to generate a new unique ID(xliff ID) for this field, and then caused the inconsistency.

This ID is critical for identifying the fields in the translation / merge process.

Resolution

To avoid this happens, please try to use the 'Edit Translation' Function in Maintain Form Template App.

  1. Open 'Maintain Form Template' App, and select the form template.
  2. Click on '+ New Translation' and select a language.
  3. Click on the 'Edit Translation' button after the target language.
  4. Click on the 'Edit Translation' button again on the right top of the screen.
  5. Select the text field in the left part, and add the translation in 'Target Text' in right part.
  6. Click on 'Save Translation' button on the bottom-left of the screen.

If the 'Edit Translation' button is not working, please try to implement the following note and purge your browser cache.
