3313177 - Objects in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) are deleted after deleting the user in SAC who owns those contents, using SCIM API.

Symptom

  • When users are manually deleted in SAC, a prompt will appear to select which user should take ownership of it's content.
  • However, when users are getting deleted by SCIM API, there will be no such prompt.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Run an IPS job to delete users in SAC.
  2. Login to SAC and see that the content owned by the deleted user is missing on the tenant.

Cause

  • The content is not deleted, but the ownership is transferred to the SAC System Owner's account.
  • In the Activity logs (Security->Activities) can be seen, that at the time of user deletion, for the objects in question there are transfer activities. These transfer activities refer to the change of ownership and not deletion.

Resolution

Login to SAC with the System Owner and re-share the objects according to the business requirements.
