3314650 - Prompt Variable window takes long time to load at first opening of a story SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

• The Prompt Variable window for live connections is taking a long time to load, when story is opened for the first time in SAC.
• Subsequent access for that session is faster.
• Product behaviour is observed for stories with Optimised Experience Design mode.

SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2023.2.6 

1. Open story with Optimised Experience Design mode in SAC.
2. Prompt Variable window load takes significantly longer.
3. Now close the story and re-open => Prompt Variable window opens immediately.

This product behaviour is by design.

With the Optimized Experience an improvement have been made to eliminate the need to download model metadata on story open. It means that interacting with the Variable Prompt will be slower assuming it is the first action, that is executed as the model metadata have to be downloaded on demand. Subsequent interactions are faster as soon as the respective model metadata is available.
