"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite
- SAP SuccessFactors Mobile
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Mobile Settings
- Scroll down to Mobile Device Management
- See below two options available:
Resolution
The "Restrict activation to managed devices" option ensures that only devices managed by MDM can be activated in SuccessFactors Mobile app.
The "Restrict non-managed devices from Mobile Device Management" will add an exception to the above option.
Administrators will then be able to grant users a permission called "User’s mobile devices will not be managed by Mobile Device Management". Users with this permission can still activate and access the SuccessFactors Mobile app, even through their device is not managed by MDM.
Therefore, the behavior can be as follows:
Scenario 1:
- MDM is enabled
- "Restrict activation to managed devices" is checked
Results: Only users with devices managed by MDM can access SuccessFactors Mobile app.
Scenario 2:
- MDM is enabled
- "Restrict activation to managed devices" is checked
- "Restrict non-managed devices from Mobile Device Management" is checked
Results: Either users with devices managed by MDM OR users with "User’s mobile devices will not be managed by Mobile Device Management" permission can access SuccessFactors Mobile app.
