3317559 - How to View and Edit Number Range for Case Type

Symptom

You would like to understand how to view and edit the Number Range for a specific case type in your SAP Service Cloud Version 2.

Environment

SAP Service Cloud Version 2.

Resolution

In order to view the defined Number Range for a case type, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to your user profile on the top-right corner of your screen.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Navigate to All Settings tab.
  4. Click Case Types, under Cases.
  5. Select any case type.
  6. Click on Open in Detailed View for the Active version.
  7. See the Number Range on the header.

For case types which are in status Draft, we can also edit and make adjustments by clicking on View/Edit Number Range Table.

Here, administrators and key users have the ability of adding an ID, a Prefix (for an example of case type Repair, users could define a prefix RE to be used), the From Range and the To Range.
