3319695 - Integration Between SAP SuccessFactors and Microsoft 365

Symptom

  • Enabling integration between SAP SuccessFactors and Microsoft365
  • With the integration of SAP SuccessFactors and Microsoft 365, users can now start a Microsoft Teams chat from an employee's quick card or profile header.
  • Publishing the  SAP SuccessFactors app to Microsoft Teams, so that it's available from customer organization's Teams app store for  their employees.

Resolution

We have new configuration page  available  in Admin Center  for setting up integration between SAP SuccessFactors and Microsoft 365  in  “Work Tech Configuration” page.

You  need to have  Administrator PermissionsManage System Properties ->  Work Tech Configuration permission  to access the Work Tech configuration page
 

Enabling Basic Integration with Microsoft 365

      To enable  integration with Microsoft Teams chat , a simple task needs to performed from the Work Tech Configuration page 

  1. Go to Admin Center  -> Work Tech Configuration.
  2. In the Enablement section, choose Enable Integration.
Enabling Extended Integration with Microsoft 365

  As per the  customer organization's business requirements and preferences,  customer can choose to set up the integration to  use  SAP  SuccessFactors in Microsoft Teams,

 this activity need to be performed from Microsoft 365 Admin once they  receive  or able to download the SAP SuccessFactors for Teams app package from Work Tech configuration page

Publishing the SAP SuccessFactors App to Microsoft Teams -> Available only for Legacy App

Publish the SAP SuccessFactors app to Microsoft Teams , so that it's available from your organization's Teams app store for your employees to access SF from Microsoft app

GLOBAL APP ROLLOUT

After the release as of March 4th 2024, a new SAP SuccessFactors app is available from the Microsoft Teams App Store.

If you're still using the old app, you may need to install the new app for all your users in the organization.

This change is made to reduce your administrative chores in downloading, uploading, and upgrading app packages every time we deliver new features. It also enables users to explore the app themselves and increases exposure.

If you are already using the Legacy App, which was downloaded via SuccessFactors > Admin Centre > Work Tech Configuration Page, then we highly encourage you migrate to this new App.

Switching to the New Experience of SAP SuccessFactors App Installation | SAP Help Portal

Important: The previous legacy app, which is the custom SAP SuccessFactors App package (zip file) downloaded via the Work Tech Configuration page of the Admin Center reached End of Maintenance in 1H 2024 release (May 2024). It's not possible to download that zip file or access this app anymore.
