3320494 - Error on Action Delete G/L Account

 You cannot delete a G/L Account due to a dump error.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Go to the Overview view.
3. Search and Open the Activity: Charts of Accounts, Financial Reporting Structures, Account Determination.
4. Select Edit Chart of Accounts.
5. Select XXX chart of accounts (XXX stands for the Charts of Accounts name).
6. Select the G/L Account XYZ (XYZ stands for the G/L Account).
7. Select Delete.

There is the popup of Delete account and usage in the configuration (where the account is used)

8. select Ok.

A dump error occurs.

Deletion is only possible if the G/L Account has not been used before. There is still some data in the buffer tables for this G/L account that is stopping the deletion.

As this G/L Account cannot be deleted, you can set the G/L Account Posting Block to "3 - No postings allowed". With this setting, the account cannot be used further as no posting is allowed.
When there is posting on the G/L Account, Blocking the account is the recommend action and not deletion.
