3321191 - How to maintain Database Hints for optimizing CDS views for program “Release from Universal Journals” in S/4HANA Finance for Group Reporting

Symptom

While executing the Task “Release Universal Journals” (aka Data Release Task) the following may happen:

  • a time out limit is stopping the program
  • Hana Memory limits are ending the execution

OR

  • runtime may not fulfill the KPIs defined

Root Cause Analysis made by you or by SAP Support showed that a certain SQL statement reading from a certain CDS view can be optimized by database hints. For more information regarding hints, refer to KBA 2142945 - FAQ: SAP HANA Hints. This KBA aims to give guidance on how to maintain the recommended hints and give background information for ongoing system operations with the chosen settings.
