What is expected to be retained in Onboarding when enabling "Retain Onboarding Information After Manual Restart"?

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

1. Log in instance and open "Onboarding general settings"
2. Enable/Disable "Retain Onboarding Information After Manual Restart'

The switch allows you to determine if new hire information must be updated from Recruiting or retain the existing information filled, as part of the Onboarding process after manual restart is performed.

• If enabling the Retain option, once changing anything in RCM side, it will not make any impact in the Onboarding process. The information filled will be the very same as before the restarting. Which is very useful in situations that only one information needs to be fixed, avoiding the need of Hiring Manager or candidate filling the fields all over again.
• If the switch is disabled any value coming from Recruiting will be updated. If the value does not come from Recruiting, it won't suffer any change.

Important information regarding this functionality: only the values for Employment related EC entities are fetched from RCM.

RCM fields mapped as Person related EC entities (i.e., personalInfo, personInfo & homeAddress), will not be updated even when "Retain Onboarding Information After Manual Restart" is disabled.

If the entire EC data (person & employment related) needs to be fetched from RCM, the recommendation is to cancel and re-initiate the Onboarding for the candidate.
