3321480 - No Search Results When Searching for Employee ID 'Exxxx'

You are trying to search for an Employee ID ex. 'Exxxx' (xxxx being the numbers in the ID) but no results are returned in the search.

1. Go to the Personnel Administration work center.
2. Go to the Employees view.
3. Search for the desired Employee ID (including the 'E' in the beginning).

Here you can see that nothing is returned. Although if you replace 'E' with '*' the expected result is correctly shown.

If you check on the 'Number Ranges for Employee and Service Agents' activity under Business Configuration, you can see that the below configuration is maintained for 'Number range for employees':

• Prefix: Static as 'E'
• Type: Manual

That way, while hiring such employee, a space would have been mistakenly added before the letter 'E'.

You either need to hire this employee again or use formatting '*Exxxx' when filtering for the employee.

This might also happen for any other object in the system that has manually maintained IDs.
