3321594 - All Background Jobs Cancelled, job logs return "No log entries are available for the selected job"

Symptom

All of the following happen together:

  • All background jobs in the system are cancelling (not just some specific jobs)
  • Trying to read the job log of any of these jobs in SM37 returns: "No log entries are available for the selected job" (BT166)
  • In the SM21 system log there are entries similar to:
    • Error <xx> for write/read access to a file. File = /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/global/<client>JOBLG/...
      Failed to create log for job <jobname> <jobcount>
