3322386 - 1H 2023: Mandatory steps for Workforce Replication from EC to SAP Master Data Integration (retrieve Cost Centers and Workforce)

Symptom

Please note this KBA is only relevant if you have activated the business scenarios to retrieve cost centers and workforce from MDI (Master Data Integration) before 1H 2022.

You have activated the business scenarios to retrieve cost centers and workforce from MDI (SAP Master Data Integration) and wish to learn what are the mandatory steps to be completed before 1H 2023.

From the 1H 2023 Release, the following Business Scenario “Workforce Replication from EC to SAP Master Data Integration” will behave differently in terms of how Cost Centers from MDI are being referenced in Workforce sent from SuccessFactors Employee Central to MDI. Instead of using the identifier stored in the entityUUID field to reference the Cost Centers, the integration logic will use the identifier stored in the entityOID field. To ensure that all Cost Centers contain valid information in the entityOID field, it is required to trigger an initial load from MDI to SuccessFactors Employee Central.

This KBA describes which steps need to be performed by the customer to trigger the initial load for the Business Scenario “Cost Center Replication from SAP Master Data Integration to EC”.

The initial load can be triggered and performed by the customer without ServiceNow incident.

The procedure itself should take less than one hour if there are no unforeseeable issues and should be initiated before the release upgrade to b2305. Maintenance of master data for the affected entities, will not be affected by the upgrade and can be continued during the upgrade. Also, no other business processes should be affected.
