3323358 - Bulk Materials are not costed

Symptom

After running "Material Cost Estimates" (CK11N) or "Edit Costing Runs" (CK40N), you notice that bulk materials are not costed.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to app "Create Material Cost Estimates" (CK11N) or "Edit Costing Runs" (CK40N);
  2. Fulfill the parameters;
  3. After run costing, check some materials were not costed; 

Cause

This is standard system behavior. Materials marked as Bulk Materials cannot be costed. You can check whether a material is set as Bulk Material in Master Data (MM03) under MRP2 tab.

Resolution

If you want this material to be costed, you need to unflag the Bulk Material option in Master Data. Otherwise, you can remove the bulk material from your Cost Estimate / Costing Run.
