3323773 - UnsupportedClassVersionError: com/sap/gb/IRMarkFPS23

Symptom

  • You are configuring FPS HMRC integration for 2023 using standard SAP Content as per SAP Note 3254294 PY-GB: RTI Legal Changes for Tax Year 2023/2024.
  • You are using SAP Process Integration (PI), with a release version lower than 7.50, as the middleware for this integration. 
  • When testing the integration, the following error is thrown: 
    LinkageError at JavaMapping.load(): Could not load class: com/sap/gb/IRMarkFPS23 Thrown: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: com/sap/gb/IRMarkFPS23 has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file version 52.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 50.0
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method)...
  • If the IRMarkFPS23 objects is opened in the ESR, an error such as "Unable to display class; byte code format invalid" occurs.
