3323807 - Error IW215 occurs when trying to close a production order

When trying to close a production order (Functions > Restrict Processing > Close) the following error occurs:

• Purchase order item XXXXX of order XXXXX still without final billing indic. Message no. IW215

SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

1. Go to Change Production order app
2. Go to Menu > Functions > Restrict Processing > Close
3. Error occurs
4. Purchase order item XXXXX of order XXXXX still without final billing indic. Message no. IW215

In the purchase order, the final invoice indicator is not set.

According to SAP Help, production order have below preconditions for setting the status CLSD:

• The order must have the status Released (REL) or Technically completed (TECO).
• The order balance must be 0.
• There can be no open purchase requisitions, purchase orders or commitments.
• There can be no future change records from confirmation processes.

A purchase order is regarded as open if the final invoice indicator is not set. The final invoice indicator is also expected if it is a purchase order without invoice receipt (for example a stock transport order).

You need to set final invoice indicator and then go ahead with closing production order.
