3324461 - Custom fields not shown in Adobe LiveCycle Designer - SAP S/4HANA Cloud

After extending the data source of a form template by either adding custom fields or data source extension, the custom fields are not available in Adobe LiveCycle Designer.

Whenever you download a form template (SAP standard or custom form) the ZIP file contains the current version of the layout (.xdp) and the data interface as XML schema file (.xsd). The new fields are contained in the data interface and should be used in the layout. ‘When the option "Embed XML Schema" is checked, the LiveCycle Designer will not automatically update the data connection and any new fields are not visible.

Clear the "Embed XML Schema" checkbox for the form template manually in the Adobe LiveCycle Designer with the following steps:

1. Switch to the tab "Data View".
2. Right-click on the root node and select "Connection Properties...".
3. Choose "Next".
4. Clear the "Embed XML Schema" checkbox.
5. Select the downloaded XML schema file (.xsd) and choose "Finish".

The new fields should be visible now in the data view.

Next time you open the form, the LiveCycle Designer will automatically ask you whether the data connection should be updated. When you select “Yes”, any new fields will automatically be included.
