3325397 - Auditing does not resume after it is re-enabled with sp_configure - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Auditing segment filled up:

AUDIT PROCESS EXCEPTION: Can't allocate space for either syslogs or the current sysaudit table in database 'sybsecurity' because the corresponding segment is full/has no free extents.

  • We turned off auditing, truncated the audit table, ran "sp_configure 'current audit table', 1  'with truncate' ", set up a second audit segment and audit table, and turned on auditing.
  • We turned auditing off and on and switched the tables a few times.
  • We originally had the "suspend audit when device is full" configuration option set to 1. We set it to 0 to flush the audit queue and then set "suspend audit when device is full" back to 1.
  • Everything looks ok but nothing is getting logged in either table.
