After posting event-based variance, you notice that only the total Cost Variance was calculated.

This happens for the materials with Price Control V in the below cases:
If the inventory quantity is greater than or equal to the quantity produced by the order, the full variance is posted to the inventory account (BSX).
If the inventory quantity is less than the quantity produced, only the shortage is posted to inventory account (BSX). The remaining amount is posted to a price difference account (PRD).
If no goods receipt took place in the period but the status of the order is TECO (Technically completed), the actual costs are settled to the price difference account (PRD). Such settlement does not change the moving average price.
You can use the app Manage Material Valuation –> Material Price Analysis -> Price History view in order to check the inventory on the posting time.
