3326057 - Error message: 'No valid offsetting acct found for source account' during termination of employee

When trying to end the Relationship with an Employee, the following error message pops up. It is neither clear what is causing the error nor how to solve it:

Error message: 'No valid offsetting acct found for source account ABC  (xx.xx.xxx - yy.yy.yyyy) on zz.zz.zzzz' (where ABC represents a time account and xx.xx.xxx/yy.yy.yyyy/zz.zz.zzzz represent dates)

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Personnel Administration work center
2. Go to Regular Tasks view
3. Choose Terminate Relationship with Employee
4. Select the relevant employee and maintain Last Working Day and Termination Category
5. Save
6. Error: 'No valid offsetting acct found for source account ABC  (xx.xx.xxx - yy.yy.yyyy) on zz.zz.zzzz' 

The issue might be caused by the following issue:

The Recurrence of the Time Account ABC is Annual xx.xx. - yy.yy. Originally, the Bookable From and To date of this Time Account ABC were defaulted to the same dates. However, they were then changed.

As a result, the Time Account ABC has Bookable From and To dates that are completely outside of the Time Account validity.  The validity of the Time Account and the bookable time frame do not match. The Validity is DDDD, but the Bookable From and To time frame from the same Time Account is EEEE (where DDDD and EEEE represent time frames).

These changes are outside of the scope of the available configurations for Time Accounts and have caused issues with the termination process.

• To overcome the situation,  specific actions to manually manipulate the Time Accounts are needed. After opening an SAP incident, support can verify the situation. 
• To prevent such issues, avoid according differences between Validity and Bookable From and To time frames.
