3328757 - OpenText Error "NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class java.util.zip.Deflater" error reported after update to OpenJDK 11

Symptom

In Archive Center, when configured to use OpenText Directory Services, you get the Error "NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class java.util.zip.Deflater" in otds.log, after you update the JDK version to OpenJDK 11.0.7 or 11.0.8.

This issue occurs in (but may not be limited to):

  • SAP Archiving and Document Access by OpenText 20.2


The stacktrace in otds.log:
