3329499 - UI behavior when multiple changes are perfomed in the effective start date when insterting a record in MDF object

Symptom

When inserting a new record in a MDF object that already has multiple records, the behavior for the Effective Start Date is inconsistent. Sometimes the system fills all the fields with the data of the past records and other times it does not.

“Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.”

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to My Employee File
  2. Click on the portlet Version History and check that the user already has records inserted in this portlet.
  3. Click in insert a new record
  4. Then, when selecting multiple times different dates for the same record and inside of the range date of the existent past records, it fills the data with the information of the past record (which is EXPECTED BEHAVIOR), however, sometimes it returns empty.

  • EXAMPLE:

    EXPECTED BEHAVIOR:

Fields filled with the information from the record of April, 03.

    UNEXPECTED BEHAVIOR:

Fields not filled with the information from the record of April, 03

Resolution

This is known behavior, the engineering team is working in an enhancement for dealing with multiple changes of Effective Start Date. This KBA will be updated with more information.
