3330568 - Max Inventory Age (In Days) shows 7300 Days in Report Inventory Ageing

Symptom

You find that report <Inventory Ageing> shows the Max Inventory Age (In Days) of some products as 7300 days.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Business Analytics Work Center.
  2. Navigate to Design Reports View.
  3. Search for Report <Inventory Ageing>.
  4. Open it.
  5. Run the report, then you find the mentioned issue.

Cause

In generally, report <Confirmation Journal> records all the relevant movement information (like warehouse confirmation for inbound or outbound,  GAC for goods movements....)for a product. If no records can be found for a product in this report, it means that system doesn't know when and how the products were receipt. Therefore, system is by default taking 20 yrs as the age of the stock (365 days * 20 yrs = 7300 days).

Resolution

System is behaving as designed.
