3330697 - Scheduling of Purchase Requisitions Created in PP/DS

Symptom

The opening date of a purchase requisition created in PP/DS can be in the past if forward scheduling is to be carried out starting from today's date, that is, if delivery is to take place on the earliest possible delivery date. The problem occurs if the first of two consecutive activities is to be scheduled on a resource with limited capacity, for example, if the goods issue handling resource is available only a few hours per week, but the transportation resource is continuously available. The same applies for scheduling using calendar time streams.

Example:

  • Weekends and public holidays are not considered.
  • Today is Thursday June 1, 2023. It's 1 p.m.
  • A stock transport requisition is to be received at the next possible time. The planned delivery time is 10 days.
  • In the supplying location, the goods issue processing time is 2 hours, but the goods issue is only possible on Mondays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., which is stored accordingly in the resource time stream of the goods issue handling resource.
  • According to Means of Transport, the transportation time is 4 days. The transportation resource is always available.

You expect the goods receipt to be scheduled for the earliest possible delivery date/time in 10 days on Sunday, June 11 at 1 p.m. with a corresponding opening date now, that is, on June 1, 1 p.m. However, the earliest delivery date in forward scheduling is undercut and calculated to be June 9 at 1 p.m.
