3331631 - "java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out" error happened in an outbound communication in CPI.

Symptom

  • You're getting a "java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out" error happened when executing an iflow in CPI in case of an outbound communication.
  • This article covers a few types of this error.
    • Error type A
      • com.sap.gateway.core.ip.component.odata.exception.OsciException: HTTP Request failed with error : Read timed out (local port 57074 to address x.x.x.x (*** hostname ***), remote port 443 to address y.y.y.y), cause: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out.

    • Error type B
      • org.apache.cxf.interceptor.Fault: Could not receive Message., cause: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out (local port 35362 to address 127.0.0.1 (localhost), remote port 20003 to address 127.0.0.1 (localhost)).

    • Error type C
      • GenericFileOperationFailedException: Cannot connect to sftp://EMAIL:22, cause: com.jcraft.jsch.JSchException: Session.connect: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: read timed out (local port 38178 to address x.x.x.x (*** hostname ***), remote port 22 to address y.y.y.y)
