3332703 - Unable to update BI on Linux server due to the error: Aborted  (core dumped) $SetupEngineBinDir $@

Symptom

  • Try to update the BI system and also finish the pre-requisites.
  • The update always fails and finishes with the error:  line 21:  1301 Aborted  (core dumped) $SetupEngineBinDir $@
  • The actual BI installation directory is <InstallPath>, which is also the one provided during the update patch installer, but installer is always looking at path "<InstallPath>/sap_bobj". 
  • In the install log, the errors below show:
    • Could not get duModel from folder: <InstallPath>/sap_bobj/InstallData/InstallCache/crystalreports.boe.serviceplugins.java.cr_transmgr_plugin-4.0-core-64/14.2.2.1975
    • Could not open file <InstallPath>/sap_bobj/InstallData/InstallCache/connectivity.connectionserver.drivers.teradata.odbc.config-4.0-core-nu/14.2.2.1975/product.seed.xml
