Symptom

Software Update Manager (SUM) is not able to start the shadow instance in phase MAIN_SHDPREPUT/START_SHDI_PREPUT.

Below Checks has already been done.

  • sapcontrol commands are working fine while executing manually.
  • You have checked the KBA  1903632 - sapcontrol - "CreateFile failed in plugin_pipefopen()" error occurs sporadically, but is not applicable as IPV6 is not active in the system and no antivirus installed.
