3333338 - Secondary HANA DB not starting due to FAIL: process hdbcompileserver HDB Compileserver not running

When starting HANA using HDB start, the following error occurs:

FAIL: process hdbcompileserver HDB Compileserver not running

Command "sapcontrol -nr 00 -function GetProcessList" shows only hdbdaemon and hdbnameserver with status GREEN, the rest is GRAY:

In the Linux syslog (/var/log/messages) you can find "Unable to lockf() the lock file" errors (see also SAP Note 3109802):

In the nameserver trace there are messages like:

When you try to start the hdbcompileserver individually, it gives a nameserver error as below:
