You are planning or studying the possibility to start using the Client Certificate Authentication method for your SFSF hosted Boomi Atom Cloud and you would like to seek more information about this method and what to take into consideration.

• The very first thing to consider it to check if you DC has the certificate authentication available, in case you DC does not have please take into consideration that we require a minimum of 3 months window to implement this so you need to request this in advance, you can see if you DC has it in the KBA below.

• Client Certificate has been enabled on port 444.
• Please ensure that the authentication type as specified below, and your public certificate has been selected in Shared Web Server settings.
• There is a known bug where another authentication type called Client Certificate Header will show up in UI as Client Certificate. This is an open defect and is being worked on by Boomi support.

1. Selecting the correct authentication type: Please note that the first option for Client Certificate in below screenshot refers to Client Certificate authentication, while the second option (enclosed in a red rectangle) refers to Client Certificate Header. This is a known bug, and we have an open case with Boomi support.
   
2. IP Filtering: IP filtering is not available when using Client Certificate authentication. If you wish to use IP filtering and do not wish to use basic authentication, Client Certificate Header is the only option available on SF hosted Atom Clouds.
