Symptom
You have created a dashboard, however, when filtering by a characteristic, you receive the following error message:
- @SCUSTOMER/BP_UUID is not a valid characteristic for InfoProvider.
- @SCODCUSTOMER/BP_UUID is not a valid characteristic for InfoProvider.
- Error messages from BW.
Environment
SAP Cloud For Customer
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to Business Analytics Work Center.
- Go to Dashboards Work Center View.
- Search, select and open your dashboard.
- Filter by a characteristic and run it.
- You will receive the above error messages.
Cause
The error is occurring due to a different master data reference used in the characteristic that you are using to filter the dashboards.
For example:
In the report (A) used in one of the dashboards, the field (BP_UUID) is having master data referenced to the CODCUSTOMER data source. However, in the other report (B) used in the second panel, the field (BP_UUID) is having master data referenced to the CUSTOMER data source.
Due to this mismatch, the info providers generated in the query is different and causing the error.
Resolution
The filters need to be applied to the fields with the same master data reference.
