3337525 - GST IN | Procedure to create the tax codes for VAT and CST in Public cloud

Symptom

As per the Government, the state has the right to levy tax on alcohol and ENA products. So, VAT and CST will be applicable to ENA products and Alcohol. As a result, it is required to have CST and VAT configuration.

Environment

S/4 HANA Public Cloud

Cause

Cannot create or edit a tax procedure in the public cloud system because of restrictions on doing tax classification on Customers and Material.

Resolution

In the public cloud, you cannot create your own tax procedures because you cannot classify tax for materials or customers. Since we are doing only sales, as a workaround, you can create a condition table without tax classification customer/ material and assign to the access sequence.

The steps to create are as follows:

Aim: Create a pricing procedure to support VAT/CST sales

Create a New Condition Type. (SSCUI: 101120)
1. Click on New Entries.
2. While Choosing an Access sequence, it is required to choose an access sequence that does not have tax classification on customer or material.
3. Fill in the required details and press save.
Add the condition type in the pricing procedure. (SSCUI: 101117)
1. Click on New Entries.
2. Fill in the required fields and press Save.
3. Select the Pricing Procedure and double-click on the 'Procedure - Control Data'
4. Click on New Entries.
5. Fill in the required fields and press save.
Maintain condition record using the App "Create Condition".
1. Make sure to have the required Business Roles to execute this app.
