3339004 - Wrong Sales Organization and Distribution Channel in Return

When you open a Return document you face an error related to having a mismatch between Sales Organization and Distribution Channel.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Sales Orders work center.
2. Select the Returns view.
3. Search for the ID ABC (ABC represents the ID of the Customer Return).
4. Click Edit.

Error:  The sales organization and distribution channel in the document do not match with the product master sales data. Check your entries in the document or the product master.

The reason the system is returning this error is because under the material master data the sales information maintained in the Return document is showing with status Blocked.

This is the system expected behavior.

To solve this, please proceed with the following:

Add a valid combination between Sales Organization and Distribution Channel.

Or

Change the status of the Distribution Chain to Active and perform the following:

1. Go to the Sales Orders work center.
2. Select the Returns view.
3. Search for the ID ABC.
4. Click Edit.
5. Remove the Sales Unit and Distribution Channel data.
6. Click Enter.
7. Add the Sales Unit again.

Now the system will retrieve the value as expected and will eliminate the error.
