3339470 - Issues with the table widget: hierarchy nodes / parent do not expand, filters are not applied in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

The following behavior occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) when using a story with tables that consume data via a BW or SAP BW/4HANA Live connection:

  1. Trying to expand a hierarchy node / parent does not work. No child elements are shown.
  2. Filters are not applied to the table. The result remains the same.

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise)
  • Live Data Connections to SAP BW and SAP BW/4HANA

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open a story that contains a table that has a dimension with an active hierarchy and try to expand a node / parent member.
  2. Open a story and apply a filter to a table (story filter, input control, widget filter).
  3. Any interaction with the table results in no visible results.

Cause

  • BW behaves incorrectly in context with the BW documents feature.
  • The  BW documents feature does not need to be used in general by the customer, SAC sends a request to check if this feature is supported by the server (BW or BW/4HANA) and whether it i supported.
  • This check is causing the issue.

Resolution

Implement the following SAP Notes:

  • 3242613 - BW InA: Corrections with respect to BW documents
  • 3289358 - BW InA and BW Documents: Field-symbol not assigned for empty cells
  • 3133846 - New lines, not assigned field symbol <l_sx_conv2sid>
