3340041 - StartUnit 'SAP<SID>_<inst.nr>.service' - failed: Unit usr-sap.mount is masked - During installation, SUM upgrade, or instance startup

Symptom

  • Systemd integrated SAP instance cannot start after a maintenance, or during installation / upgrade.
  • The sapcontrol output shows:

FAIL: Service start failed: systemdI_sdbus_cmd: StartUnit 'SAPSID_00.service' - failed: Unit usr-sap.mount is masked.

  • The "usr-sap.mount" could be different, depending on the local filesystem structure.
