3340256 - "Mapping of Tax Number Category contains invalid values" error in the mapping task of Migration object Customer in Migrate Your Data app

Symptom

You are using the migration object Customer in the app Migrate Your Data - Migration Cockpit.

In the "Mapping of Tax Number Category" you got the following error:

Mapping of Tax Number Category contains invalid values XXX.

Reproducing the Issue

Open the app Migrate Your Data - Migration Cockpit
Create a project and select migration object "Customer"
Download template and upload already filled file
In the mapping task of "Mapping of Tax Number Category", you get the mentioned error.

Cause

The value you entered in S/4HANA Target Value field is not existing in your system.

Resolution

To keep systems legally compliant, SAP provides standard tax types which can be used by our customers and they are available in SAP Note 775919 - Missing tax number categories of business partner.

First, please check if the tax number category mentioned in the error message is available in SAP Note 775919.

If that is included in SAP Note 775919, then add this tax number category to your system via the SSCUI 102415 - Maintain Tax Number Categories.

If that is not included in SAP Note 775919 and there is a valid legal requirement, please open a case in the CA-GTF-CSC component. And request SAP to include it and update it in SAP note 775919. In this case, please provide a URL Link for the legal requirement from the relevant government organization.
