3341145 - ATP result doesn't match the qty available in Monitor Stock / Requirements List APP- SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

ATP check is not confirming the expected quantity even though Stock Overview: Basic List APP or Monitor Stock / Requirements List (MD04) APP still displays available quantity and sufficient stock to confirm the requested quantity.

Cause

Stock Overview: Basic List APP and Monitor Stock / Requirements List (MD04) APP are not suitable to check the availability situation for a material or component.

Stock Overview: Basic List APP and Monitor Stock / Requirements List (MD04) APP should not be used to get an overview of the ATP situation because it does only show requirements (MBDAT of the first schedule line only) and stocks. Meanwhile, the Monitor Product Availability APP shows all this information plus confirmed quantities and issues depending on the customizing done in Configure Scope of Availability Check (ID 101099) via Manage Your Solution APP.

Only Monitor Product Availability APP allows a real overview of ATP and takes the multi-level concept in respect of the organization levels, for example, plant, storage location, and batch into account.

In Monitor Stock / Requirements List (MD04) APP, the "Available quantity" field is not calculated according to ATP logic. This means that the available quantities displayed here are not calculated according to the scope of check defined for ATP in Customizing. Also, the stock information shown in Stock Overview: Basic List APP is not sufficient to draw any conclusions regarding availability. For example, there is no information here about the quantities that have already been confirmed (which is necessary to calculate the available quantity).

Resolution

To check the material's availability quantity, always use the Monitor Product Availability app.
