3341594 - Class Connector nullifies Time Slot Description and other fields

When updating a Class using the Class Connector, the Time Slot Description of the Class are getting nullified. The same happens with other fields as well (users' attendance, instructor, equipment, etc.).

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

1. Log into HCM >
2. Navigate to Learning Administration >
3. At Learning Activities > Classes > search for a class and open its record >
4. At the class's record > Agenda tab > click on the three dots > Edit Time Slot >
5. Add a Time Slot Description and/or a instructor and/or an equipment and/or a custom resource, etc. >
6. Click on 'Save' >
7. Back at the class's Agenda tab, click on the three dots > Mark Attendance >
8. Select which of the registered users should get the attendance recorded >
9. Click on 'Apply Changes' >
10. Use the Class Connector to update the class >
11. Now navigate to the class's Agenda tab and notice that several fields were nullified (Time Slot Description, instructor, attendance, etc.).

Our Engineering team has confirmed that when running the Class Connector to update an existing class, the existing Segments of the class are deleted and new segments are added based off the values present in the input file.

Regarding the Time Slot Description, the new segment being created when the Class Connector runs is updated to the value provided in the Connector file or blanked out if the input file doesn't provide any value for SEG_DESC.

Regarding the Time Slot Description, if it's necessary to retain its value when updating the class, the connector's input file needs to contain the SEG_DESC column.

Regarding the other fields, not all of them are part of the Class Connector. For example: instructor can be maintained via the connector, but equipment, custom resources, and attendance can not. Such fields can only be updated manually by a Learning Administrator.

Alternatively, to suggest a different system behavior, it would be possible to have an enhancement request created for it (as per KBA 2090228), where the Learning Product Management team can further review and assess the requested functionality to be considered in a future release.
