Symptom

How to update visit plan for the account via data import and export?

Environment

  • SAP Sales Cloud 
  • Dynamic Visit Planning Add-on

Resolution

Please kindly follow the steps below to update the existing visit plan. 

  1. Go to Administrator Work Centre 
  2. Go to Data Import and Export View
  3. Click on "Export" button
  4. Select "Visit Plans" and switch on "Complete Entity"
  5. Select "excel"
  6. Filter Account 
  7. Click "Export Data"
  8. Extract the downloaded zip file
  9. Modify the excels and compress them to the zip file 
  10. Go to Data Import and Export View
  11. Click on "Import" button 
  12. Select entity "Visit Plans" and switch on "Complete entity" 
  13. Select "Update" & “Ignore” 
  14. Select file type "Excel" 
  15. Drop the modified zip file 
  16. Click "Import Data"
  17. If the upload job finishes with green status "Completed", it means it's successful
  18. If the upload job finishes with red status "Failed", please click the number link for the field Error to download the error file.

Tips:

  1. ID in Visit_Plan excel needs to be entered as parent ID for Visit_Plan_Availablity and Visit_Plan_Sales_Data excels. 
  2. In Availability file, for field "Start Time" and "End time", please use 24 hour time format like "08:00" by changing format to text in the excel. 
  3. In Sales data file, field "Valid From Local Date" and "Valid To Local Date", they support date format like "2023-04-28" by changing format to text in the excel.
  4. In Sales data file, for Visit Frequency YEARLY & MONTHLY & DAILY, visiting days cannot be maintained, so please leave them empty. For Visit Frequency WEEKLY, values for visiting days can be maintained as TRUE/FALSE as weekly frequency supports visiting days.
