3342095 - Support for Syntax Version 2 on EDI components in SAP Cloud Integration

Symptom

  • When using EDI components in an iflow to process EDI messages with Syntax Version 2, the following error is being issued:
    Error Details
    com.sap.it.rt.edi.exception.EDISplitterException: Processing exception: EDIFACT validation failed. Please find the details in the MPL attachment., cause: com.sap.it.rt.edi.edifact.exception.ProcessingException: EDIFACT validation failed. Please find the details in the MPL attachment. 
  • Checking the MPL attachment of the failed message, the following is present:
    <SyntaxVersion>2</SyntaxVersion>
    ...
    <ErrorCode>2</ErrorCode>
    <ErrorText>Notification that the syntax version and/or level is not supported by the recipient.</ErrorText>
