3342342 - How to generate optimizer support files for a SAP Support case

You want to monitor the optimization runs for potential problems.

You have an issue with one of the SCM Optimizers and created/want to create a SAP support case.

SAP has asked you to provide a compressed archive containing the support files of an optimizer run.

Via the rcc_log app a user with the appropriate permissions can monitor all of the optimization runs.

The table will display the status of each optimization run along with the called optimizer, the start date and time as well as the used planning profile.

Additionally, it displays the Job ID used to identify the optimization run in the SCM Optimization Service. For more info regarding this id see SAP Note 3339568.

For monitoring issues with the communication to the SCM Optimization Service please refer to SAP Note 3339582.

Via the “download compressed archive file” button, you can download the optimizer support files for a selected optimization run. This data is stored for 7 days in the service. After this time the data will be automatically deleted and can no longer be downloaded.

With the compressed archive the support can replicate and debug the optimization run locally. Therefore, these files are essential for processing cases regarding the optimizers. To avoid processing delays you should make sure to always attach the corresponding optimizer archives to the case, ideally directly during creation of the case.

Data Protection

The compressed archive will contain names of the objects maintained in the system, for example, names of locations, resources, and so on. This allows you to communicate clearly with SAP support, because objects can be referred to using names as seen by the planners (e.g. ‘freight unit FU123 is not planned on truck Truck345’). Input data and especially names of objects will only be used for case processing and deleted afterwards from SAP internal systems. They will not be communicated to any other 3rd party.
