3342687 - Job Information Cross Entity Rules are now Triggered when Terminating a User with Centralized Services.

Symptom

When terminating a user with "Enable Centralised Services to Save Changes on the Manager Self-Service UI for Termination Details" enabled via Company System and logo Settings (in the 1H 2023 Release this is opt-out, it will be universally enabled at a later release) onSave rules on Job Information with the Rule Scenario "Trigger Cross-Entity Rules" are now triggered.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Define an onSave rule on Job Information with the Rule Scenario "Trigger Cross-Entity Rules". This rule can be updating values for example FTE
  2. Ensure "Enable Centralised Services to Save Changes on the Manager Self-Service UI for Termination Details" enabled via Company System and logo Settings.
  3. Terminate a user who's data would meet the conditions of the rule in step 1
  4. See the rule from step 1 was triggered an updated users data.

Cause

This is an enhanced rule execution logic with Centralized Services for Termination:

Resolution

If you do not wish for any Cross Entity rules on Job Information to be triggered as part of the Termination process, you can disable the rules from being triggered by using the Rule Context: Termination UI.

  1. Navigation to Manage Business Configuration > jobInfo
  2. Find the desired rule
  3. Select "Details"
  4. Under the "Rule Context" set "Termination UI" = No
  5. Save
