3342829 - Mapping Announcement: SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central with WorkForce Software integration

With this KBA, we are announcing the release of new mapping functionality in the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) with WorkForce (WFS) Software integration.

Current Behavior:
In the current integration, mandatory field check exists.

This means that, for certain EC fields, a mandatory field check will happen which will check whether those fields are populated for a given employee (one such field is job_title).

If a given field is not populated, then the employee will not be processed, and the transaction will be logged into XM.

New Behavior:
With this KBA, we are announcing the release of a new switch, "mandateJobTitle".  

Currently, "Job Title" is mapped to "Assignment Description" as a mandatory field in WFS. With this switch, the mandatory check for job_title can be skipped.

For existing customers, the value of mandateJobTitle will be set to true by default and the mandatory field check will be performed. However, on setting the value to "false", the check can be skipped. If the job_title field is populated in EC, the field will still be sent from EC to WFS, but it will not be marked as mandatory, meaning it is not be expected to be populated in EC.

Important Notes for customers who chose to use this parameter:
1. If you are an existing customer and are already using the Custom Mapping Extension, you must either:

a) make a change in the Custom Mapping iflow to remove this enforcement by setting minOccurs = 0 for

in the source XSD used in the message mapping step, or

b) deploy the latest version of the Custom Mapping iflow in your CPI tenant (in the latest version, this enforcement is not applied)

2. This value is also being enforced on the WFS side, so if the value is not sent to WFS at all, there is a possibility that it will fail on the WFS side.
