Symptom
- Transport the Story from SAC system A to SAC system B through the Content Network.
- Open this transported story in SAC system B.
- Observe that the specific dimension member description in Story Filter or Page Filter has been updated to the same as this specific dimension member description shown in SAC system A.
- However, also observe that this specific dimension description in table has shown as the dimension description defined in the model in SAC system B.
Environment
SAP Analytics Cloud.
Reproducing the Issue
- Log on to the SAC system A and SAC system B respectively.
- Create a story with the same name in SAC system A and in SAC system B respectively.
- Update a dimension member description in SAC system A and transport the story in SAC system A to SAC system B.
- Open the story in SAC system B.
- In SAC system B, add a story filter or page filter based on the dimension to the transported story.
=> Observe that the specific dimension description in Story Filter or Page Filter has been updated to the same as this specific dimension description shown in SAC system A. - In SAC system B, create a table in this story and add the dimension to this story.
=> Observe that this specific dimension description in table has still shown as the dimension description defined in the model in SAC system B.
Cause
- The behaviour of the static filter is by design.
- When the filter is created, only specific dimension members are included in the filter. Thus a static filter is created. In this case, the description of dimension values are not refreshed when the story is opened.
Resolution
Define the filter with "All Members" selected. This way the filter is dynamic and the filter value descriptions will be fetched from the model when the story is re-opened.
