3343206 - Merged duplicate candidate is not showing in user's referral tracking even though the master profile was referred by that user

Symptom

A candidate has been forwarded to a requisition via Refer a Friend feature. The candidate themselves then applied to that job requisition but used a slightly different email so created another application and candidate profile also.
The Recruiter moved this new application created by candidate down the pipeline as this application had more information.
The Recruiter then manually merged the two candidate profiles, making the self-created candidate profile as the master profile.
After the merge you can see on the master application that the referral information carried over from the first application.
However, when the referrer goes to Referral Tracking, they do not see this candidate listed.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Careers>Search Jobs
  2. Job Req>Refer Friend to Job
  3. Fill in details and click Send
  4. Go to Referral Tracking and see that this candidate is visible there
  5. Go to Job Req and see this candidate is in Forwarded status and is referred by the Referrer
  6. Apply for this job on external site with same candidate details but different email address so this creates a new candidate and new application
  7. Back in the job req, move this new application to another status in the pipeline
  8. Go to Manage Duplicate Candidates>Manually Merge Duplicate Candidates
  9. Search for forwarded candidate in first search box and then search for the second applied candidate in second box
  10. Click "Yes" to merge the candidates
  11. Make the second candidate the Primary Profile
  12. Click "OK" for Notify secondary candidate by email
  13. Click "Send" on the email pop-up
  14. Go back to Job Req and click on the Forwarded candidate and notice that this profile is no longer visible as this was the secondary profile
  15. Click on the master application and see that it has the referral information still on it
  16. Go to Referral Tracking and see that this candidate is no longer visible

Resolution

Engineering team confirm that the RCM_APP_STATUS_SET_ITEM_ID has changed in RCM_APPLICATION table, so new mapping status of application gets moved under new tab, and will no longer be available under Forwarded status. So, this is the expected behaviour of application.
