3344405 - "The referenced account is currently locked out and may not be logged" error for <sid>adm in dev_sapdbctrl log for SAP ASE for BS

Symptom

  • Keeps seeing this Error in dev_sapdbctrl log:
    [PID 1234] ERROR AT sybServer.cpp:logonAsUser:3432 TIME: 2023 Jun 14 09:32:10 DESCRIPTION: LogonUser failed for <sid>adm LAST OS-ERROR: (1909) : The referenced account is currently locked out and may not be logged on to.

  • May also see this message:
    [PID 1234] SybServer::init:  See SNote 1797040. User switch is mandatory for distributed systems. DB_CONNECT/SYB/SAPSID_USER is missing in local secure store. Make sure the corresponding password is correct for DB_CONNECT/SYB/SAPSID_PASSWORD

  • System works fine except that the above error would report in log.
