Symptom

After exiting from Widget Fullscreen mode in story with Optimized Design Experience (ODE) mode, the page sets visible all panels/popups of the page in SAC.

 

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise) 2023.08.12

Reproducing the Issue

Test with hidden panel:

  1. Create a story with ODE mode.
  2. Insert a chart/table.
  3. Insert a Panel: Left side panel - Assets - Containers - Panel.
  4. And add e.g. a Text box, just for the better visibility. (Optional)
  5. Switch to Outline and set the Panel as hidden.
  6. Save the story.
  7. Switch to View mode.
  8. Set the chart or any other widget to fullscreen: Select the chart - More options (...) - Fullscreen
  9. Exit Fullscreen (see icon on the right upper corner).
  10. The Panel will be visible.

Test with popup:

  1. Create a story with ODE mode.
  2. Insert a chart/table.
  3. Insert a Popup: Left side panel - Outline - Page more options (...) - Add Popup
  4. and add e.g. a Text box, just for the better visibility. (Optional)
  5. Save the story.
  6. Switch to View mode.
  7. Set the chart or any other widget to fullscreen: Select the chart - More options (...) - Fullscreen
  8. Exit Fullscreen (see icon on the right upper corner).
  9. The Popup will be visible.

Cause

The issue is caused by a defect in the product.

Resolution

  • Workaround: refresh the browser.
  • This issue is fixed in the version 2023.08.20.
  • Please note, that this patch will only fix the problem, when there is no pagination element (Auto-sized table or Section) inside the story. The pagination features were developed for reporting purpose and do not support the application designer features such as the widget visibility.
