Reproducing the Issue

Go to Manage Workflow Requests
Fill in the search parameters on 'Search Workflow Requests'
Click on 'Change Generic Object Actions' of one of the workflows that are available
Warning message 'The corresponding object has been already purged' is displayed and you cannot see details of the workflow

Resolution

The message 'The corresponding object has been already purged' that appears when you try to see details of a workflow means that the record of this workflow was deleted.
In case your MDF object has 'Complete History' on the 'MDF Version History' field, you can audit who deleted the record / how was the record deleted. Please refer to the following KBAs: 2603939 and 2790859.
To identify which was the workflow triggered once you are not able to see details of the workflow, please refer to the following KBA: 2761151.
