3346813 - Replication Agent Performance suddenly has bad performance, is there a configuration that will help - SRS

Symptom

  • Replication Agent performance is slow/appear hung.
  • Normally, the RepAgent threads are fast.
  • sp_help_rep_agent dbname, ‘scan’ showed:
    • The RepAgent is stalling after some time. 
    • A restart of the Rep Agent seems to help as the markers (start, end, current) once again move. 
    • Then, it gets stuck and starts moving very slowly again.
    • Restarting the RepAgent seems to help things, again, only for a short while. 
  • Looking for best options for Replication Agent configuration performance.
