The following error occurs when creating a Service Quote as a Follow-Up of a Service Order: Invalid order reference; select a different one

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Service Orders work centers. 
2. Select the Service Order Processing view. 
3. Select Service Order XYZ (XYZ represents the Service Order ID).
4. Click on the Follow-Up button and select Service Quote.
5. In the new Service Quote go to Services and Spare Parts tab.
6. Remove all the items other than the line item XX (XX represents the line item number).
7. Click on the Save button. 
8. A new service quote will be created with the error message: Invalid order reference; select a different one

The error occurs because line item XX in the Service Order has the Delivery Status Finished.  

If you would like to create a follow up quote for these services you would have to manually add them again in the Service Quote. These items would then not have a reference to the Service Order items.
