Symptom
In a scenario where a Service Confirmation is raised from a Service Order, the error "Not more than 1 parties of role Supplier permitted" is displayed when trying to Release the Service Confirmation.
Environment
SAP Business ByDesign
Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Service Orders work center.
- Open the Service Confirmations view.
- Find Service Confirmation ABC (Where ABC Represents the ID of the Service Confirmation).
- Release the document.
Error "Not more than 1 parties of role Supplier permitted" is displayed and the release won't be possible.
Cause
One of the reasons for this to happen is when there is an empty "Supplier" party in the Service Order.
Resolution
Follow these steps:
- Go to the Service Orders work center.
- Open the Service Confirmations view.
- Find Service Confirmation ABC (Where ABC Represents the ID of the Service Confirmation).
- Open the document and click on View All.
- Navigate to the Document Flow tab.
- Open Service Order DEF (Where DEF Represents the ID of the Service Order that generated Service Confirmation ABC).
- Click on View All in the Service Order.
- Navigate to the Involved Parties tab.
Here, you see that there is an entry for a "Supplier" party with no value maintained. In order to avoid the error in the Service Confirmation, you have two options:
- Add a value for the "Supplier" party in the Service Order.
- Remove the entire "Supplier" party from the Service Order.
