3348411 - Cannot clock time for Employee Return to work from LOA / Can still clock time for Employee on LOA


When employees go on Leave of absence, they should not be able to access clock time.

When they return to work from LOA, they should be able to access clock time immediately when there is a change in the clock in clock out group in Job Information.

However this is not happening automatically, and it is needed to execute full employee synchronization.

To sum up, the starting of LOA and returning from LOA are not triggering the employee synchronization to CICO automatically.

Reproducing the Issue

Scenario 1. When LOA is initiated from Take Action, Leave of Absence is created and then the Job Info is updated directly.
The LOA employees can still access Clock Time, while LOA employees should not be able to access Clock Time. 
Admins can still create or import time events for LOA employees, while no time events should be created for LOA employees.

Scenario 2. Similarly, when the employee returns to work from LOA, this creates a Job Info update directly which results in an employee status change.
The employees returned from LOA still cannot access Clock Time, while employees returned from LOA should be able to access Clock Time automatically.
Admins cannot create nor import time events for employees returned from LOA, while they should be able to.

To sum up, the starting of LOA and returning from LOA are not triggering the employee synchronization to CICO automatically.


There is no event raised from the TimeJobInfoUpdateDomainEventPublisher when the Leave of Absence and Return to work processes results in Job info changes.

So we are unable to trigger a CICO Employee Sync to ensure that this LOA employee cannot access Clock Time when on LOA, nor ensure that the employees returned from LOA can access Clock Time immediately.


We are planning on an enhancement on this in future release.

Until the fix is provided, the below Workaround shall be followed:

Customer can use the workaround solution of initiating a Clock In Clock Out Employee Full Synchronization after employees have been sent on LOA or have returned to work.
This will ensure that their business process is not impacted.
